Hello world!

This is not what my typical posts are going to look like, but I would like to start gathering an interested audience.  I intend on using this blog as a journal/record for our homeschooling adventures.  We are finishing up the school year with two large units – pirates and knights.  At the same time, I am preparing next year’s curriculum so that we can move through it as quickly as Isaac needs without having to wait for me to pull the next lesson together.  So for now, an attempt will be made to present those two units once they are complete.  The summer may see this blog left un-attended, but in the fall, I will be updating it regularly to show our recent work.

Wow… what an amazing piece of work! I really enjoy this kind of stuff. I’ll share it with some friends here. I’ll be coming back to visit some of the sites… will ‘favourite’s’ this blog. Keep going! Our family is reading the Swiss Family Robinson at tea time. When we come across something we don’t know we ‘google’ it… the kids are now quite keen to google info. We’ve looked at keels, sugar-cane, whelks, sharks etc just because we came across them in our nightly reading! It’s great fun!
God bless you and yours, Wendy

Megan! This is an impressive unit! I’m sure that Ike loved it! You are exposing him to many of the areas that we explore in a school-funded preschool. The cool thing is that you have keyed in on an area that he is interested and are helping him learn a wide variety of skills (social, cognitive, physical, language, literacy, math, etc., etc., etc.!) Wonderful!
